How to decorate my kitchen?

I am slowly redecorating each room in my house and its the kitchens turn to get a makeover, since i have saved it for last i think i am going brain dead on ideas. Its just small rental home so no actual remodeling , but netural color paints is allowed. Any ideas? Pictures and links would be great ! I enjoy many decorating scenes but my living room is already done in a country scene (i.e. browns tans golds and some crosses and just old country signs) so maybe something different then that.
