Do i need a wheel for a rat, if so what kind. wire or plastick or saucer?

My males can't be assed to use a wheel, as male rats are typically a lot more lazy. My females, however, love theirs. Judge by their activity levels as to whether or not they would use one. Don't buy a wire wheel as their fingers and tails can get caught in them and cause them to fall off or even get them ripped off. Plastic is my best bet, it's what I've used for all my rats that have wanted/needed a wheel. Saucer is okay too but less comfortable if you don't get it big enough. Go with a 10" or 12" wheel.
